Match Report
Scotch College 2nd XI vs  Hale School, Perth
On: Saturday, 09 Feb 2019
Venue: at Home

The Scotch seconds lost a hard fought game to the undefeated Hale School at Home in warm conditions. Hale won the toss and elected to bat on what looked a great wicket and quick outfield.

Hale got off to a good start posting 30, before wickets to Ben Chapman and Lincoln Allan stopped the flow of runs. Hale regrouped however and put together a couple of decent partnerships, which was aided by some average Scotch fielding - to take control of the contest.

Some great bowling by Saami Welsh, Adam Barwood, Jack Beazley and Ric Holder got Scotch back into the game, restricting Hale to 189. Holder finishing with 2 wickets.

In the run chase, Scotch lost 3 quick wickets to be reeling at 3/14, with an inevitable collapse in sight, only to be rescued by a 50 run partnership from Adam Barwood (36) and Nick Paganin (26).

Skipper Allan came to the crease and smashed a very quick 28, with support from Ben Chapman 23 but it wasn’t to be for the Scotch boys, losing by 38 runs.
