Scotch College 2nd XI vs  Guildford Grammar School
On: Saturday, 23 Feb 2019
Venue: at Home

The Scotch 2ND XI continued their good form for 2019 with a commanding display against Guildford at Home. Scotch won the toss and elected to bat first.

Saami Welsh and Adam Barwood opened the batting with the instructions to set the platform and form a solid opening stand. Saami perished in the 9th over, with a decent team score of 37 on the board.

Barwood continued his great form for 2019, batting in successful partnerships with Plowman and Stephenson, before Barwood departed for a classy 75.

Some great hitting from Mainwaring and Captain McTaggart, and cameos to Stephenson and Chapman ensured the Scotch boys batted out the 50 overs for an impressive 9/201.

With the ball, Nic Paganin and Kirwan McTaggart opened up and formed a very threatening and economical partnership. Paganin claiming the first wicket.

Ricardo Holder again bowled a menacing spell, really threatening with most deliveries and claiming a quality 2/13 off 6 overs.

With the score at 5/60, Max Bailey was thrown the ball and has great skills with swinging the old ball. Today was no different.

Max Bailey put on a swing bowling master class, claiming 5/12 off his 6 overs and ripping through the middle to lower order, to claim victory for Scotch as Guildford were bowled out for 85.
