Scotch started this game versus an unpredictable Wesley outfit on song. From the first tip off to the final siren, Scotch controlled the entire game. It all started with Scotch’s chocking defense, which created Wesley turnovers and Scotch buckets. A 30 point to 11 first quarter, set up the game and a 19 point lead at the first break. Harry Imison scored 12 of his 22 game high points in the first quarter, with Nathan Thomas hitting two big three pointers and going on a block frenzy, as he denied the Wesley offense, time and time again. Lachan McGrath and Blake Costello were also hitting three pointers to help build an early lead. The second quarter continued in the same vein, as Nathan Thomas and Liam Kiel put crucial points on the scoreboard. The Wesley team had a mini fight back with some back to back points towards halftime, and the Scotch lead was at 18 points. The third quarter saw the Scotch team apply fierce defensive pressure as they only allowed Wesley to score 8 points for the entire quarter. Scotch took a 25 point lead into the third quarter break. The final quarter, had Scotch even turn up the defensive efforts more and again, allowing Wesley only 8 points. Scotch ran out winners by 36 points while also claiming the Blackwood Cup as outright winners for the second year in a row. Harry Imison top scored with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Nathan Thomas scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and a massive 8 blocks for the game. Liam Kiel scored 17 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Lachlan McGrath scored 12 points and 11 rebounds.
