Scotch batted first and got off to a fast start thanks to Banjo Harold. A couple of quick wickets followed before Craig Dinas and Alex Russell-Weisz joined each other at the crease. Together they put on 63 for the fifth to place Scotch in a strong position with six overs remaining. Craig was dismissed for 29 and in the search for quick runs Alex was caught behind for 45. Wesley bowled well in the closing overs to restrict Scotch. A total of 136 was a pleasing effort and gave the players a score to defend.

Julius Kain and Henry Vaughan opened the bowling and were very steady in the first five overs. Fletcher O’Connell made a great save which forced a run out and Wesley were under pressure early in their innings. Rory King bowled a terrific spell and at drinks Wesley were 2/47. Wesley batted very well after drinks and the strong stroke play placed the Scotch bowlers under pressure. A couple of near misses may have changed the outcome however Wesley sealed victory with nine balls remaining.

It was a solid effort against a strong team.
