Match Report
Scotch College Year 9A vs  Aquinas College
On: Friday, 22 Mar 2019
Venue: Away

Aquinas made a solid start and some clever captaincy from Benji Melville restricted the Aquinas openers and Alex Russell-Weisz and Banjo Harold claimed a couple of valuable wickets. Alex claimed his second wicket and Aquinas were 3 for 61 at drinks. Aquinas batted very well after the break. To the bowler’s credit they maintained a solid line and length and some good fielding from Orson Bairstow and Tans Hasler saw two run outs in the later overs. Toby Evans completed a pleasing days bowling with two wickets in his final over. Aquinas made 7 for 154 from their 30 overs.

Alex and Benji put on 41 for the second wicket and had Scotch in a solid position. The continual loss of wickets through the middle overs placed the team under too much pressure and the team was never able to get ahead of the required run rate. The team continued to try to score which cost wickets and the side was dismissed for 91 in the 27th over. Alex and Benji were the top run scorers with 27 and 19 respectively.
