Match Report
Scotch College 1st XI vs  Hale School, Perth
On: Saturday, 15 Feb 2020
Venue: Away

Rnd 9 saw us take on Hale at Craig Oval. Scotch lost the toss and was asked to bowl by Hale. Hale started well with their openers given them a solid start. A few quick wickets saw Hale reduced to 4 for 145 at stumps on Friday. All Scotch Bowlers bowled with great discipline. The Saturday morning session was going to be crucial in deciding the result of the game. Our boys bowled really well and claimed the last 6 Hale wickets for 25 runs. An amazing effort considering what had happened the week before against Trinity.

Set a target of 170, Scotch never really got out of the starting blocks. We were soon in trouble losing our top order for not many runs. As the afternoon went on it became apparent that a win was off the cards. Osborne, Zander Melville, and Jack Beazley showed real fight at the death to help their team secure a draw in very challenging conditions.

A special mention must go to Riley Waters and Rory King who bowled fantastically and showed what pressure can do to the opposition.
