Match Report
Scotch College 2nd XI vs  Trinity College
On: Saturday, 08 Feb 2020
Venue: at Home

We were beaten by 13 runs in our first loss for the season.

We bowled and fielded excellently to have Trinity

8-85. However, Trinity recovered to make a competitive 147.

Nic Paganin( 4-18), and Ned Gaffey (1-16 off 10 overs) led the way with accurate and penetrating bowling. Xander Ackerman and Max Bailey also contributed with miserly spells.

Our batting performance was below expectations.

Richard Walton (38) and Lachlan Stephenson (25) put us in a solid position midway through our innings.

Overall though, we lost too many wickets to poor shot selection. To get bowled out in 39 overs was most disappointing.

A determined last-wicket stand by Ed Allan( 32 not out) and Xander Ackermann took us close to victory. But, they were left with too much to do.

I felt we were not 100 percent focussed on the day, and I look forward to big improvements in this aspect versus Hale on Saturday.
