Match Report
Scotch College 2nd XI vs  Aquinas College
On: Saturday, 07 Mar 2020
Venue: at Home

A wildly fluctuating days cricket resulted in a 7 run loss for Scotch.

The game started promisingly with Scotch bowling and fielding exceptionally well.

Ned Gaffey( 4/23) and Max Bailey( 3/24) led the way with the ball to have Aquinas 8-78.

Aquinas eventually made a solid score of 184, which was to prove crucial.

2 excellent run-outs by Jack Kapinkoff and Adam Barwood were a highlight.

We got off to a terrible start to be 5/39. Thereafter all our remaining batsmen fought hard, and we built several 20-40 run partnerships to give ourselves a chance late in the game.

At one stage we needed 26 off 26 balls, but with only 2 wickets in hand it proved too difficult .

Ed Allan(33) , Chris Michael(22),Lachlan Stephenson(22)and Ricardo Holder(21) all batted sensibly to lead the way in our fight back.

It was the third time this term we have batted second. It is proving a significant challenge for us to chase down reasonable totals, particularly after poor starts.
