Waters inspires Scotch to Win!

Scotch won the toss and decided to have a bat in this crucial game against our old rivals Aquinas. Plowman and Tibballs started well putting on 37 for the first wicket. Plowman was undone by a short ball from Hardie for 23. Chew fell just before the tea break and Tibballs not long after that. Scotch were left reeling at 5 for 54.B Melville played well for his 26 and by the end of the 60 overs, Scotch was in the precarious position of 7 for 113 at the end of play on Friday.

Saturday morning was always going to be important in deciding the outcome of the game. Waters and Osborne played very well to help take Scotch to a competitive total of 188.Osborne finishing on a Darlot best of 35.

The afternoon session was amazing with Riley Waters taking 7 for 5 off 9 overs and bowling Aquinas out for 83.

Following on, Aquinas ended at 5 for 174 and denied Scotch an outright. Special mention must be made to Sean Boers who score 61 out of the Aquinas 83 and then scored 90 in the second innings.

A great win for Scotch who now look forward to playing Wesley away this weekend.
